Rancor - The beast who chomps to the beat of his own drummer!



So, above are three screen grabs in sequence of a bug in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. In the Alliance Raid, when pitted against the aptly named monster, Rancor, he has certain attacks depending on which stage you are in. One of these attacks is the Chomp attack, where he eats one of your characters, no hope for evasion. This is part of the game and I accept that. He has a cool down period after use, 5 turns. Well, he is supposed to have a cool down period of 5 turns. The truth of it, and EA (their wonder techs) doesn't even acknowledge let alone admit this is he pretty much does what he wants when he wants. I've seen it happen mupltiple time to me, heard about it happening to others but I can only speak to what has happened to me. I've documented, submitted tickets, etc... all to no avail. The latest instance I documented as well as got screen grabs of the event before, during and after and submitted that with my ticket. The result? In more or less than an hour after I submitted my ticket, they promptly closed it. I read that and didn't even bother submitting the ticket again today when it happened.



I hate to admit it but I've spent $190.90 on this game. I'm not proud of it. I don't do a lot else in terms of entertainment. I rarely go to movies, etc. Now I've heard of 'whales' who spend thousands if not tens of thousands on their game(s) of choice. I don't have that kind of money and believe me, I probably would too if I did.

The thing is, EA and the makers of this game don't care about people like me, which in turn is people like you (et al. the mass of game players in general) so long as the money keeps coming in. I don't expect any kind of refund. I wouldn't even raise the issue with Apple, as the last time I mentioned a simple double billing glitch they game me the run around until they locked off my account and I lost all my media I'd paid them for so, Apple customer service sucks on its own.

I don't even believe I can get a grass roots boycott of people spending money in this game due to two things, 1) The aforementioned whales, they spend money like I drink water. 2) Check the forums for the game and for every valid gripe there are ten people who will cut you down, get abusive, call you a whiner, if you don't like it then don't play kinds of comments. So, no help there.

I guess the real reason I am putting this up is for the fact that I'm seriously pissed off at this company and more to the point, the lack of ability/diligence of their support staff. I used to be in tech support for software and know which kind of team goes the extra mile and which simply pencil whips reports and closes cases without so much as reading them. These guys, their whippers for sure.
